WILDERUN - 'Olden Tales or Deathly Trails' (2012)

'Olden Tales and Deathly Trails' is the excellent debut album from Boston-based symphonic Folk Metal band Wilderun.

The band combines original material with traditional folk songs, many of which have been pulled from America's rich repertoire. Wilderun's goal is to bring these old and lost folk tales to a modern audience, giving them a fresh metal twist, as well as creating epic, original symphonic compositions.

RIYL: Opeth, Turisas, Eluveitie, etc.

Quotes: "Superb debut with catchy folk metal hymns. The album spreads a very positive atmosphere and offers several great hymns, which stay in your mind, even when the last song has faded. Favorite track: The Dying Californian."

"L’album est une invitation permanente au voyage (avec beaucoup de rhum), avec un excellent sens de la mélodie – même les growls savent se faire agréables, comme sur « Storm Along », par exemple."
